COVID-19 has changed the way we live and work forever, with businesses becoming more agile and digitally focused to accommodate distancing policies. Whilst the change has been an adjustment, it has also been an inspiring time full of new learnings and communities coming together personally and professionally to get through this together.

The M&C Saatchi Inspire – Growth Sessions is a six-part program of actionable insights to guide tomorrow’s leaders to long-term career success.

Whether you are looking to make a move into a new vertical, want advice on how to progress in your current role, or simply want to learn more about the Marketing & Advertising world, M&C Saatchi invites the industry to ask questions, receive guidance and absorb key information from top industry talent.

From CEO to strategist, attendees had the chance to discover what skills will be required to thrive in a post-coronavirus world.

We’ve got an incredibly diverse mix of people within our business, so it’s been brilliant to see how many of them want to get involved and help anyone who has been displaced during the last few months, or simply looking for a change.

Now is a tough time for many, but what it does enable is a focus on self that we are not often allowed, Sev has pulled together a great panel of industry leaders to kick off the Sessions next week so I encourage people to jump in next Thursday and each session following.

With twenty years experience recruiting in the creative and marketing industries, Nick has had the opportunity to work with an incredible range of talent, from coordinator level through to CEO. In his role as Recruitment Director at M&C Saatchi, no day is ever the same. In this interactive session, he discusses targeted career development; how to identify and take advantage of your interchangeable skills; the importance of bringing a positive attitude to every role; and the balance of soft skills vs functional skills – what to focus on, and when.

Amy Grant

Strategist, M&C Saatchi Australia

After a break from studying law led to eight years in Account Management and a sojourn client side, Amy Grant made the leap into the Strategy team within M&C Saatchi. Drawing from her own non-linear career path, Amy discusses some considerations to weigh up when deciding to make a career change, making a career move with your current employer, building creative strategy skills, and insight on what to expect in your first few months of being a strategist. This session is a must for aspiring strategists or anyone in advertising and marketing hoping to shift roles.

Since 2009, Patrick has led the global vision and growth of the Re Group for the M&C Saatchi Network including two agencies in Sydney (Re Sydney and Yes Agency), Re London (EMEA) and the soon to be launched Re Greater China.
Patrick strives to define and build creative cultures that enable highly diverse and brilliant teams to thrive. As the Chief Executive Officer of the global Re Group, he prides himself on the authenticity and tenacity of his people, and how their ideas ultimately influence and impact people and organisations.
Patrick has also built businesses and his career whilst facing adversity and is a continuing advocate for diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Speaking from his own experience and offering insights on how business owners, team members and talent looking for work can face the adversity of COVID-19, Patrick is well versed in assisting his own team in their development and enhancing their professional scope. Now sharing his insights on how, as leaders, we can all encourage and develop our teams during this trying time, Patrick is a definite tune in for creatives and leaderships alike.

Josh started his career in Finance, but was determined to find a path that ignited his creativity and stretched his boundaries. After moving into Account Management Services with M&C Saatchi, he’s been able to use his dual-industry experience to accelerate his progression working on some of our top clients and largest accounts. Offering advice for anyone considering a transfer of skills into a relationship driven role, Josh speaks from his own personal experience on changing career paths, the upskilling required and invaluable insights into working with clients in the Marketing & Advertising industry.

Sev Griffiths

General Manager, Bohemia Group

With an extensive career in the media industry, Sev joined the M&C Saatchi Group as General Manager of Bohemia in 2020. Passionate about developing talent to be cross-functional and able to navigate the new world of work in 2020, Sev hosts a diverse panel of extremely talented, brave and experienced people in our industry who have demonstrated individual strength, passion and resilience. Included on the panel are Natalie Harvey (Network Sales Director, network 7), Kate Richardson (Executive Coach and Mentor) and Ellie Rogers (Facebook Agency Director, ANZ). The one thing that is common between them is that they have been able to reinvent themselves in the industry and take on challenges by switching gears and tackling new career paths.
